ytmp3.nu, ytmp3.la and ytmp3.as: three addresses, one page

ytmp3.nu in one sentence

Type ytmp3.nu into a browser today and you do not arrive at ytmp3.nu. On 16 September 2026 it answered with a single HTTP 301 redirect to ytmp3.gl, and so did ytmp3.la and ytmp3.as. The page all three land on is one file, identical to the byte.

So you are not judging three sites but one page that answers to several names. The reporting people quote about ytmp3 is dated, and describes what those writers saw then.

What we saw on 16 September 2026

We requested each address with a desktop Chrome user agent, followed the redirects and searched the final HTML. Every cell is what the servers returned.

The http:// and www. forms behaved the same way, and ytmp3.nu redirected an Android user agent identically. The page delivered was 5,917 bytes with the same MD5 hash every time.

Three details reinforce that. The canonical link pointed at ytmp3.gl, not at the address we typed. All four hosts served an identical robots.txt naming a sitemap on ytmp3.gl. And all three resolved to one IP address, 88.80.22.204.

One thing to weigh: the destination is the newest name here. Registry WHOIS for ytmp3.gl gave a creation date of 18 July 2026, so it was about two months old when we looked, against nearly four years for ytmp3.nu. Its registrar was given as Immaterialism Limited and its nameservers as Njalla's, matching ytmp3.la's registrar and nameserver service.

ytmp3.nu

ytmp3.nu carries the oldest registration record of the three, and much the most search demand. The .nu registry gave it a creation date of 1 October 2022, a transfer on 22 May 2025 and SpaceDump IT AB as registrar. It has not always been a redirect: an Internet Archive capture from 2 January 2023 shows it running its own converter, with Search, Cutter and Shortener tools.

On 2 October 2024 the Recording Industry Association of America gave it its own entry in its notorious-markets submission to the United States Trade Representative: no registrant information, the registrar Sarek Oy in Finland, the host Servers.ru in Russia, advertising as the revenue source, and "345 million visits globally in the past 12 months". That figure is for the year to October 2024.

The line worth repeating is about identity. The RIAA wrote that ytmp3.nu "functions similarly to the old Ytmp3.cc site that is no longer operational", then that "there is no way of knowing whether the operator simply moved to a new domain", or whether "a third-party actor has seized on the ytmp3 brand". A trade body with lawyers could not say, in a government filing, which ytmp3 this was.

ytmp3.la

ytmp3.la behaved identically: one redirect, same destination, same file. Its paperwork differs, though. WHOIS at the .la registry gave a creation date of 5 October 2024, the registrar Immaterialism Limited, and nameservers run by Njalla, a privacy service. ytmp3.nu and ytmp3.as use a different pair, so even inside this group the plumbing differs.

The archive adds a wrinkle. A capture of ytmp3.la from 1 May 2024, replayed with no redirect, returns HTTP 403 under the heading 403 Forbidden. That capture is five months older than the creation date on the current record, which points to an earlier registration of the same name.

That leaves "is ytmp3.la safe" with a short answer. No security vendor we could find has written about ytmp3.la at all, and on 16 September 2026 there was no ytmp3.la page to assess, only a redirect. Judge ytmp3.gl instead.

ytmp3.as

ytmp3.as is the newest of the three addresses this page covers. The .as registry's RDAP record, handle 273513-as, gives a registration date of 12 June 2025 and the registrar INWX GmbH of Berlin. It shares its nameservers with ytmp3.nu. An archive capture from 13 June 2025, the day after that registration, already shows a finished converter offering MP3 and MP4. That says nothing about who set it up, only that the page existed before the name did.

One caveat on the archive material: the Internet Archive's search endpoints were erroring throughout our check, so none of these captures is claimed as the earliest or latest. Several replays quietly redirected to captures of other hostnames, so every archive fact here comes from a replay we confirmed. Those hostnames are not strangers: ytmp3.sc, app.ytmp3.as and yt2mp3.ai shared that IP address and that redirect that day.

Is ytmp3.nu safe? What the reports say

We ran no antivirus scan and cannot tell you what a download contains. We can report what the page loaded, and what named third parties say.

What we measured: 200 words of visible text and three script elements, only one of which loaded a file, from the same host. We searched the page and that script for seventeen common analytics, ad-network and push libraries, from Google Tag Manager to OneSignal and ExoClick, and found none. There was no notification request or service worker. Its add-on page offered Firefox and Opera extensions only, with no APK and no paid tier.

What others have published:

• MalwareTips, 3 February 2023. Its removal guide for ytmp3.nu said the site "tries to trick you into subscribing to its push notifications" in order to send spam, with the pop-ups arriving even when the browser was closed.
• Moonlock, MacPaw's security team, 3 March 2026. Its guide separates the page from what sits behind it: a converter's own code and design can be perfectly ordinary, because "The problems lie beneath the surface, on the server that hosts the site." It also warns that granting such a site permission to send notifications leads to more pop-up ads and unwanted downloads. The only ytmp3 domains it names are ytmp3.cc and ytmp3.nu; it does not mention ytmp3.la, ytmp3.as or ytmp3.gl.
• Softorino, published 16 June 2022 and updated 25 August 2026. Its YTMP3 safety guide names no domain at all, listing symptoms only: pop-ups that fake an infection, and "Browser notification prompts that keep sending ads after you leave".

The conclusion is narrow. Where that reporting names a domain, it names ytmp3.cc and ytmp3.nu, in February 2023 and March 2026. The HTML served to us on 16 September 2026 held none of that code. We cannot date the change, promise it holds, or say the behaviour has stopped.

The part you control is the notification permission. Malwarebytes, whose detection page for push-notification nuisanceware names no ytmp3 domain, explains the general mechanism: "Websites use social engineering to trick users into allowing web push notifications from their domain." Legal standing is separate. TorrentFreak reported in October 2017 that YtMp3.cc had begun blocking UK visitors, and in March 2022 that the operator of "MP3Juices.cc and YTMP3.cc" was sending Google takedown notices against sites using those brand words. Both concern the .cc era, and we found no enforcement action naming ytmp3.nu, ytmp3.la or ytmp3.as.

Is ytmp3.nu legit? Three questions in one word

"Legit" bundles three tests, and a converter can pass one and fail another.

1. Is this the site I meant? Literally, no: you typed one name and got a page declaring itself another. Redirects are ordinary, but a name's reputation need not belong to the page you reached.
2. Does it do what it claims? We converted nothing, so we cannot answer that for ytmp3.gl. It offers one input field, an MP3 button and an MP4 link, and states no bitrate.
3. Is using it lawful? That depends on the video, its rights and where you live. No converter settles it for you.
